At Wiz Kidz, we offer tutoring for all high school subjects. We have tutors that specialize in each specific field of study. Our tutors are also very familiar with the curriculum guidelines and have in-depth knowledge of the tested materials. The majority of our tutors even have practice tests which they can distribute to students before unit tests. The Wiz Kidz tutors have great relationships with many of the teachers in the Thornhill area which really helps us provide more focused and productive tutoring sessions. Again, students typically choose a day and time most suitable for them and continue with that particular time slot throughout the school year. One of the most important suggestions that we have for our students is that they come to their tutoring sessions as prepared as possible. The more work students attempt at home, the more they can accomplish in their one hour session with their tutor. A number of students come to their tutoring sessions with a list of questions to ask (this is a very effective strategy). When completing homework independently, it is always helpful for students to highlight or circle problematic questions or concepts that they did not fully understand. This way, students don’t forget to revisit materials they had difficulty with in their tutoring sessions. Years of experience has demonstrated that students who study and prepare at home, ALWAYS achieve greater results in the classroom setting!
