At the elementary school level, the students in grades 7 and 8 are asked to prepare a written speech at the end of the year, and present it to their entire class. The subsequent evaluation comprises a significant portion of their final grade. Many students have difficulty deciding on a topic of interest, require assistance organizing their information, and even struggle to feel comfortable with the idea of speaking in public (a realistic fear for many grown adults!) The Wiz Kidz Learning Centre has compiled an extensive list of interesting speech topics that the students can choose from. Once a suitable topic has been chosen, students are then guided through the writing process (from creating a properly structured outline to supporting arguments with researched facts) Wiz Kidz has created a special program specifically designed to aid in the speech writing process and help students feel confident with their presentation skills (with the help of effective memorization techniques). Help your child overcome the anxiety and discomfort associated with public speaking with these unique support sessions.
